Kathleen C. Schroder

Katie was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas. She graduated from Rice University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Engineering Sciences and English. In 2003, she received her Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado School of Law and was elected to membership in the Order of the Coif.

While in law school, Katie was an articles editor for the University of Colorado Law Review and published a comment in that journal. She also served as a research assistant for a natural resources law professor. During her summers in law school, Katie worked for the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of General Counsel, the Denver office of a national law firm, and a local water law firm.

Upon graduating from law school, Katie clerked for Justice Alex J. Martinez of the Colorado Supreme Court. Following this clerkship, she spent a year with the United States Department of the Interior’s Office of the Solicitor as part of the Solicitor’s Honors Program. While in the Solicitor’s Office, Katie advised the multiple bureaus within Interior on issues arising under the National Environmental Policy Act, the Endangered Species Act, the Federal Land Management and Policy Act, and the Freedom of Information Act. Katie joined the firm as an associate in November 2005 and is a member of the Colorado Bar.

Katie is a dedicated runner who also enjoys reading, skiing, and cooking.
