Firm HappeningsRob Mathes at Cheyenne Frontier DaysRecently, BLL shareholder Rob "Cowboy" Mathes took a few days off to attend Frontier Days in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Rumor has it that "Cowboy" Rob competed in the ropin' and bronc ridin' competitions. 8/4/11 Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation ParticipationThe firm continues to play an active role in the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation. Laura Lindley, who previously served as the President of the Foundation, continues her role as a Trustee at Large and teaches at the biennial Federal Oil and Gas Leasing Short Course. Laura also is the updating author for a chapter of the RMMLF Law of Federal Oil and Gas Leasing and has prepared and presented numerous papers at a variety of Annual Institutes and Special Institutes. Rob Mathes served as a Trustee at Large from 2007 – 2010 and was recently reelected as a Trustee at Large for 2011-2012. Rob also teaches at the biennial Federal Oil and Gas Leasing Short Course, is a contributing editor to the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Newsletter, and continues to serve as the updating author of Chapter 15 of the RMMLF Law of Federal Oil and Gas Leases, covering Surface Management Requirements and Special Stipulations. Katie Schroder was recently elected as a Trustee At Large for the Foundation for 2011 – 2012 and serves as the updating author of Chapter 2 of the Law of Federal Oil and Gas Leases relating to the history of federal oil and gas leasing laws. Katie previously presented a paper at the 55th Annual Institute regarding the interplay between NEPA, FLPMA, and the Clean Air Act. 7/27/11 Katie Schroder Named As ShareholderThe shareholders of Bjork Lindley Little are proud to welcome Katie Schroder as a fellow shareholder, effective July 1, 2011. Since joining BLL in 2005, Katie has developed an extensive practice dealing with all aspects of leasing and development activities on federal lands, including federal regulatory interpretation and compliance in connection with leasing and development and public lands issues.
