In addition to again being named a Colorado Super Lawyer, Laura Lindley was also voted by her peers as one of the Top 40 female attorneys practicing in Colorado for the second year in a row. 4/1/08 BLL Wyoming Office Relocated To Farson, WyomingIn March 2008, BLL’s resident Wyoming counsel, Darin Scheer, relocated to Farson, Wyoming. BLL’s Wyoming office is now open in the historic Mercantile Building in Farson, located in the southwestern part of the state between Rock Springs and Pinedale. 4/1/08 Diann LaGrange Wins Roush MustangCongratulations to Diann LaGrange, an administrative assistant at BLL who recently won the Office Depot Worklife Rewards Sweepstakes. In addition to her new custom-made 2008 Stage 3 Roush Ford Mustang, 5-speed, V-8, with a Roush racing engine (number 8 of a total of 53 Stage 3 Mustangs to be made by Roush), Diann won an all-expenses-paid vacation to a NASCAR event in Florida, where she met Jack Roush and made several high-speed laps around the racetrack with Office Depot’s NASCAR driver, Carl Edwards. The attorneys and staff at BLL are extremely proud to work with Peter and Laura. 6/28/07 Wyoming Supreme Court Upholds $3 Million Jury VerdictIn April 2007, the Wyoming Supreme Court upheld the $3 million jury verdict in a case in which Darin Scheer of BLL drafted the underlying purchase agreement and participated as trial and appellate co-counsel. The decision of the Court can be found at: http://courts.state.wy.us/Opinions/2007WY60.pdf. 6/27/07 Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation ParticipationThe firm continues to play an active role in the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation. After serving as President of the Foundation in 1999-2000, Program Chairperson for the 41st Annual Institute, and member of the Executive Committee from 2000 to 2003, Laura Lindley continues her role as a Trustee at Large, teaches at the biennial Federal Oil and Gas Leasing Short Course, and reports on federal oil and gas issues for the Foundations Mineral Law Newsletter. In November 2006, Laura was a featured speaker at the RMMLF program on Federal Onshore Oil and Gas Pooling and Unitization. 12/3/06 Darin Scheer Assists in Obtaining $3 Million Jury VerdictIn December 2005, a six-member jury in Douglas, Wyoming awarded $3 million in damages to clients represented by Mark Gifford of Casper, Wyoming, and co-counsel Darin Scheer of Bjork Lindley Little. The dispute involved an effort by the plaintiffs to purchase a fishing lodge on Admiralty Island, Alaska for a total purchase price of $2.65 million. The plaintiffs sued to enforce a purchase and sale agreement drafted by Darin Scheer, and the lawsuit was filed in Wyoming due to a choice of forum provision in the contract. According to local news reports, the verdict represented the second largest damage award in the history of Converse County, Wyoming. 12/21/05 Laura Lindley Honored As One Of The Top 500 Lawyers In The NationLaura Lindley was honored as one of the top 500 lawyers in the nation by Lawdragon magazine.
